Program Manager

Job Description

Program Manager in this space will be responsible for multiple cloud environments used by the Delivery team including Azure, SF, SCP, Cloud Foundry.  This will require multiple skills including Traditional and Agile PM, SDLC, DevOps, Security, and Data.  This lead will look to improve the success of our current transition into Cloud and also future needs; help the overall program team transition to the future state of cloud development.  In general this role will need to work toward the success of the program with reporting, MS Azure or other cloud solutions
 
Functions of the Job:

• Responsible for the Program Management and Governance activities executed by the Cloud development for Talent.
• Successfully plan and execute projects to agreed schedule, budget and scope/requirements
• Manage the relevant project management processes - i.e. initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control ad close, and the supporting processes e.g. scope, cost, time, issue, risk, resource, communication, stakeholder management
• Monitor and control the work to ensure that the project/work stream remains on track and in control
• Plan for and manage change
• Reports on progress and variances to the approved program/project baseline
• Close the project to formalize acceptance of the project outcomes and release project resources
• Interface and communicate with project team (Vendor and Internal), management and stakeholders
• Manage project work and resources to enable successful and timely completion of the project/work stream
• Perform appropriate quality processes
• Delivery of project aligned to overall business and technology strategies and architectures
• Work within defined governance processes
• Manage external contracts and suppliers where required
• Develop objectives, phasing and content of the project/work stream to deliver on the business case benefits, budget and timescales
• Manage to the objectives and plan by thorough risk, issue and change management
• Proven track record in Project delivery for highly-complex and integrated applications
• Good knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
• Extensive experience working with 3rd party vendors as service providers
• Experience in delivery management on large global transformation programs
• Excellent Project Management skills

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

• Determine when to escalate to management as opposed to following scripted procedures, depending on the seriousness of the anomaly
• Adopt a logical and organized approach to problem resolution
• Ability to clearly articulate both problems and proposed solutions
• Monitor program/project baselines to ensure activities are occurring as planned - scope, budget and schedule
• Proactively identify risks and issues on projects –helping  team to develop risk management and issue management plans
• Ability to prioritize personal and team workloads to best meet organizational objectives

Experience and Skills Requirements:
Cloud specific requirements:

• Cloud and on--premise Application, Data, Technology project management, analysis, Solution Architectures, design, Implementation, delivery, and support using agile methodologies such as SAFE, and lifecycles including DevOps, CI/CD, Automation, Scripting.
• Experienced with expertise across multiple Cloud platforms including Azure (certified MCSE), Cloud Foundry, Containers, AKS.
• Team building with Shared Vision, Consensus, Collaboration, Mentoring, and Training helping in relevant CAMS (culture, automation, measurement, and sharing).
• Experienced in adapting and promoting Lean, Agile, and fluid practices, culture and mindset Solution Engineering, Services, and Integration Software Architecture, Design, Construction. Adept, and quick to learn diverse business domains, frameworks, tools, technologies, and needs.
• Technical skills include Java, JavaScript, C#, VB, Python, Big Data (HDP), Data Science, Scripting and AI/ML
• Fast paced, bottom-line driven, problem / solution mindset while keeping tactics aligned to cloud native strategy, mentoring, and development.
• Security, Policies & Procedures, GRC, Lean Processes
• ETL, DQ, MDM, ODS, Data Warehousing

Program Management Requirements:

• English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication
• Proven track record in Project Management for large, complex, highly integrated application landscapes
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Software Development Lifecycle
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Experience of working within multi-location teams
• Experience of working in large programs of work
• Experience of leading small teams in project delivery
• Excellent experience in client-facing roles within blue chip organizations
• Experience of Team Management with multi-location teams
• Ability to build good relationships both within own team and with other teams

Education:

• Professional and Academic Credentials
• Bachelors in Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant discipline.

Experience:

• 10+ years’ experience in an IT
• 5-7 years of proven experience and success in a Program Manager role
• Experience with Cloud development.

Technical knowledge:

• MCSE (Cloud Platform & Infrastructure): Architecting, Developing, and Implementing Azure Solutions & Infrastructure, Design & Implementing
• Big Data Analytics Solutions;
